This piece is entitled “Transformation.” It is both about the transformation of my child and about the transformation of this country, which has become rife with discrimination against LGBTQ+ people. The piece is inspired by the tradition of bronzing baby shoes to honor the birth of child. This seven part sculpture and companion poem depicts and honors the journey of my child.
